MASHPEE FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES OCTOBER 5, 1993 MEETING COMMENCED AT 7:OOPM Members Present: Dan Goggin, Chairman; Deirdre Greelish; Denise Sullivan and Marcia King. Please note for the record that the Minutes of August 17, 1993 have not been approved. Please also note for the record that the taping of this meeting was for the transcription of the Minutes only. The tapes will be reused once the Minutes are approved. MINUTES Deirdre Greelish Motioned to accept the Minutes of September 21, 1993 as written. Marcia King seconded the Motion and members voted 3-0. Dan Goggin abstaining. Dan Goggin dictated a letter for J. Vaccaro thanking him for keeping the Finance Committee informed in regards to the recently settled contracts. Mr. Goggin asked that any future collective bargaining sessions or strategy sessions regarding the Police or Fire Union Contracts be made known to the Finance Committee for their presence. Mr. Goggin also felt that it would still be the position of the Finance Committee to disagree with any money articles in the October Town Warrant, with few exceptions. Mr. Goggin suggested adding 2 1/2% to last years revenues to approximate this years revenues. Mr. Goggin suggested that the Fiscal Policy Report be updated. Ms. Greelish felt that this was a great idea also. Mr. Goggin thought it would be helpful to do projections for 4 or 5 years. The Finance Committee could work with the Departments directly. Mr. Goggin suggested to the members present that they review the Fiscal Policy Report. Mr. Goggin felt that at the next meeting, the Committee should discuss the new liaison assignments. He also stated that the Finance Committee, if acceptable to all members, would meet on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. Dan also felt it would be helpful to the town if the Finance Committee could print out an FY93 Budget vs. Actual FY93 Budget and use a variance column.
