` I
Page 2
Dan Goggin nominated Denise Sullivan to be the Clerk for the
Finance Committee. Marcia King seconded the nomination and members
voted 5-0, hearing no other nominations.
LIAISON ASSIGNMENTS
The next order of business was to choose departments, in which
members would like to be liaison. The liaison list is attached, as
well as current members addresses, for your own personal files.
The Committee also assigned projects to certain members, which you
will also find listed on the attached sheet.
RESERVE FUND TRANSFERS
The first request is from the Board of Health. The Department
requests that $646 be transferred from the Reserve Fund for the
cost of publishing in the newspaper for two days. Ms. Sullivan was
going to find out why there was such a difference in cost for
publication in the Tuesday and Friday's issues.
The second request is from the Police Department. The Finance
committee believed that this was handled through an article at Town
Meeting. Mr. Pacigalupi, who is now the liaison to the Department
was going to speak to Chief Frye.
The Committee agreed to wait until this information was obtained,
regarding the two requests, before voting.
OTHER BUSINESS
Ms. King indicated that she would speak to the Executive Secretary
in regard to a Municipal comparison of Towns, which she explained
the Sandwich Executive Secretary told her that Mr. Whritenour
should have available.
Mr. Goggin mentioned that he would speak to Ms. Greelish about
keeping the Long Range Plan updated.
Mr. Goggin also mentioned that the Finance Committee would like to
see only one recommendation on the Warrants at the Annual and
Special Town Meetings. The committee felt it was to confusing to
have both the Finance Committee and the Selectmen's recommendation
on the Warrants, especially when there was such disagreement. Mr.
Pacigalupi indicated that they would need to work on the charts and
overheads also. He explained, that as a taxpayer sitting in the
audience, the charts contained too much information and were
unreadable in some instances.
Ms. King was going to speak to Mr. Cahir regarding the Capital
Replacement Account.
