Mr. Goggin stated that if the figures are consistent <br /> with the Town Planner's numbers then they should be plugged into <br /> the Long Range Plan. Mr. Goggin asked Ms. King to ask Dr. DeMoura <br /> if these are the numbers that should be used in the Long Range Plan <br /> or not? <br /> Mr. Ferriday asked, if in general , priorities should be set by the <br /> Finance Committee or the Board of Selectmen? Mr. Goggin answered <br /> that the Committee should update the Long Range Plan and be <br /> comfortable with it. Mr. Ferriday then asked to what extent should <br /> the Finance Committee keep reminding the Selectmen of what they are <br /> doing? Mr. Goggin felt that it was essential to complete the Long <br /> Range Plan as soon as possible and publish it. Mr. Goggin feels it <br /> is essential to give the taxpayers the best information available. <br /> Mr. Gallo suggested utilizing the newspapers more often. Mr. <br /> Ferriday asked when the Committee send in its recommendations <br /> regarding a warrant, is it better to send it in a column format or <br /> under Paul Ott's byline? <br /> Mr. Bacigalupi stated that a dilemma facing the Committee is that <br /> there is only so much money coming into the Town, salaries are <br /> going up, and that the Town should not penalize departments who are <br /> turning back money. Mr. Ferriday will draft a letter as a personal <br /> member of the Finance Committee touching on this dilemma. <br /> Mr. Bacigalupi suggested televising Finance Committee meetings. <br /> Mr. Ferriday suggested trying it unofficially first. Mr. Goggin <br /> agreed that it may be a good idea, but that they first need to <br /> finalize the ,Long Range Plan. <br /> The meeting adjourned at 8:50PM.
