3 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 8, 1999 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Jim Snyder re: Closing of Hillside Avenue and Wheeler Road: <br /> Michael Minior, AFCEE and Carl Gustafson of Jacobs Engineering were <br /> present to request the Board approve the temporary closure of Hillside <br /> Avenue and Wheeler Road for the purposed of installing two recirculating <br /> wells in the Briarwood Community. <br /> The construction of the wells will require the complete blocking of a <br /> section of each road during the drilling process. The construction <br /> equipment will encompass most of the 40' road width during their <br /> operation. <br /> Correspondence was received from the Chief of Police,Fire Chief and <br /> Director of Public Works with respect to this regard. The Department <br /> Heads do not object to the closure proposal from March 15, 1999. through <br /> July 2, 1999, <br /> The Selectmen requested that appropriated detour signage for emergency <br /> vehicle access is installed. Signage and barricades will provide adequate <br /> notice to motorists. The use of flashing lights during evening hours was <br /> recommended during the temporary closure. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to approve the temporary closing <br /> of Hillside Avenue and Wheeler Road from March 15, 1909 through <br /> July 2, 1999 for the installation of two recirculating wells as described. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Frye. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Selectman Caffyn complimented the work done by William Fisher, <br /> Environmental Consultant for the Town of Mashpee. His <br /> recommendations have motivated this type of process. <br />
