Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> April 5, 1999 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Hearin —Real Trans ortation: (continued) <br /> Being no comment, Selectman Marsters requested a vote from the Board <br /> to close the Public Hearing. <br /> + Motion made by Selectman Taylor to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Frye. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Frye to approve the license application of <br /> Donald S. Blethen, d/b/a Real Transportation, 174 Lowell Road,#110, <br /> Mashpee for a (3)vehicle livery service license. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Recess: 7:08 p.m. Meeting Resumed: 7:10 p.m. <br /> Joseph Potzka re: MashjLee Trolley Service: <br /> Joseph Potzka, Administrator of the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority <br /> was present to discuss options for service in the Town of Mashpee for the <br /> summer since the Mashpee Trolley has been terminated due to lack of <br /> ridership. <br /> The CCRTA feels that there is no new demand response service in <br /> Mashpee informed Mr. Potzka who noted that the b-bus and Council on <br /> Aging bus handles all senior transportation requests. <br /> The Town of Falmouth has approached the CCRTA about the possible <br /> implementation of a new trolley service from Falmouth to Mashpee <br /> Commons. The proposed service would originate at the Falmouth Mall <br /> and travel along Sandwich Road to Route 151, and then east to Mashpee <br /> Commons. <br /> Both Mashpee and Falmouth would have access to the Barnstable County <br /> Fair grounds which includes the County Fair, Mashpee POW WOW and <br /> other activities. It would also allow Falmouth residents an opportunity to <br /> shop in Mashpee Commons. <br />
