2 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> April 5, 1999 <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> Re nest of Cup Cod Rowin for Approval. <br /> The Board reviewed the request of Cape Cod Rowing,Inc. to schedule <br /> an interscholastic rowing meet/regatta on Saturday,May 15, 1999 at the <br /> state boat ramp and public beach at MashpeelWakeby Pond. <br /> Correspondence was received from the Chief of Police, Fire Chief and <br /> Harbormaster with respect to this regard. Chief Przybylek has requested <br /> that one private Detail Police Officer be assigned to police the event from <br /> 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Chief Baker does not object to the scheduling of <br /> the event, and has requested that the club employ a Firefighter/EMT for <br /> the regatta planned at the pond. In addition, a support vehicle is necessary <br /> to provide first aid and emergency communications for the event. <br /> Perry Ellis,Harbor Master recommended the Board approve the request of <br /> Cape Cod Rowing. He suggested that the club be allowed to use the town <br /> beach and parking lot. <br /> Peter Freeman,President of Cape Cod Rowing, Inc. indicated that he is <br /> receptive and supportive of the above-stipulated public safety <br /> requirements for the rowing event in the Town of Mashpee. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to approve the request of Cape <br /> Cod Rowing,Inc. for an Interscholastic Rowing Meet/Regatta on <br /> Saturday,May 15, 1999 at Mashpee/Wakeby Pond as defined. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Frye. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Historic District Study Committee AMointments- <br /> The Selectmen received two letters of interest to service the Historic <br /> District Study Committee. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to appoint; <br /> Joseph L. Polito & Russell Peters <br /> to the Historic District Study Committee as requested. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Leveille. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br />
