i <br /> 12 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> April 26, 1999 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Aloproval and Execution of Special Election Warrant: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to approve and execute the <br /> Special Election Warrant of June 12, 1999. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Uveille. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> A roval of Road Race -Heritage Park: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to place the above topic as an <br /> agenda item of the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Frye. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to approve the Road Race <br /> proposal as received for Heritage Park on Sunday,June 6, 1999. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Frye. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Repprt of Open Space Committee: <br /> Selectman Leveille and Selectman Taylor, members of the Mashpee Land <br /> Bank Open Space Committee updated the Selectmen on the specific sites <br /> to be recommended at the Annual Town Meeting for purchase. <br /> The Selectmen were requested to voice official support of the land bank <br /> articles. It was noted that the Finance Committee was also requested to <br /> vote on the specific open space articles. <br /> Article 420: The Land Bank Committee vote to support the purchase of <br /> the Belcher property using Land Bank funds. The property <br /> known as the Town Forest was voted by the community for <br /> purchase under debt exclusion prior to the Land Bank fund. <br /> It was noted that the U.S. Fish& Wildlife Service may <br /> consider purchasing the property from the Town although <br /> funding is not presently available at this time. <br />
