14 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> Apri125, 1999 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Report of the Open Space Committee: (continued) <br /> Article 424: The Land Bank Committee voted to support the <br /> purchase of a 3.8 acre parcel of land having an <br /> estimated 700' of shoreline on the east side of <br /> Santuit Pond. The area is threatened by <br /> development. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to endorse the purchase of the <br /> above referenced parcel using Land Bank funds. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Frye. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Article #25: The Land Bank Committee voted to support the <br /> purchase of a 6,973 square foot parcel of land on <br /> Monomoscoy Island having approximately 150' <br /> of frontage on the east side of Hamblin's Pond. <br /> The area has prime access for shellfishermen and <br /> carry-in type boats. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to endorse the purchase of the <br /> above referenced parcel using Land Bank funds. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Frye. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> ADDITIONAL BUSINESS: <br /> On behalf of the Board of Selectmen, Chairman Marsters presented a <br /> plaque to Selectman Curtis Frye and Selectman Nancy Caffyn for their <br /> dedicated service to the Town of Mashpee. <br />
