5 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> May 10, 1999 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Hearin —Jiffy Lube---Above Ground Storage., <br /> Selectman Marsters opened the Public Hearing on the application of Jiffy <br /> Lube, for Aboveground Fuel Storage Tanks(5,990 gallons)to store motor <br /> oil, waste oil., transmission fluid, new/used antifreeze, and window washer <br /> fluid at 60 Falmouth Road,Mashpee. <br /> Mrs. Mason, Assistant Town Administrator read aloud the Public Hearing <br /> notice as published. <br /> Joseph Pandolfo,the general contractor for the intended project was <br /> present to discuss the license application with the Selectmen. <br /> Mr. Pandolfo indicated that Joe Menendez, owner, operates Jiffy Lube <br /> establishments in Hyannis and Fairhaven. The business is an automotive <br /> oil change facility. It is proposed to be located on Route 28 next to <br /> Botello's Lumber. <br /> Mr. Pandolfo stated that the Zoning Board of Appeals approved the <br /> special permit last week. In addition,the Deputy Fire Chief approved the <br /> license application as dated April 26, 1999_ <br /> Discussion followed with respect to the fuel containment and removal <br /> process. Mr. Pandolfo noted that a maximum of 6000 gallons of oil would <br /> be stored in the basement of the subject establishment in a specially <br /> designed tank room that meets all safety code requirements. <br /> There was no public comment. <br /> It is the consensus of the Selectmen to further discuss this matter with <br /> Sheldon Hamblin, the Deputy Fire Chief. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to continue the Public Hearing on <br /> the application of Jiffy Labe,for Aboveground Fuel Storage Tanks <br /> (5,990 gallons)at 60 Falmouth Road,Mashpee to Monday, <br /> May 17, 1999 at 6:30 p.m. Town Hall, Conference Room N. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Leveille. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br />
