6 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> July 26, 1999 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Nauset Inc. —One Dgy Li uoi-License: <br /> Selectman Leveille stepped down for the above license request. <br /> Barbara Oliver and Karen Saunders were present on behalf of <br /> Nauset, Inc. to request the Board approve a one-day liquor license <br /> for the non-profit Hearts for Art Program. <br /> Beer and wine is proposed to be sold at an art auction to be held <br /> with the Boch Center for Performing Arts on Saturday, August 14, 1999 <br /> under a tent at Mashpee Commons from 5.30 p.m. —8:30 p.m. <br /> The human service organization presently serves adults with <br /> developmental disabilities. Twenty-five percent of the proceeds will <br /> benefit the Bach Center for Performing Arts. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to approve the request of <br /> Nauset,Inc. for a One-Day License, beer and wine only on Saturday, <br /> August 14, 1999 from 5:30 p.m.--8:30 p.m. in Mashpee Commons. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Blythe. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Selectman Leveille abstained. <br /> Human Services Committee: <br /> Marie Younger, Chairman of the Human Services Committee was present <br /> with Louise Patrick,the new Executive Director to update the Selectmen <br /> on various human services activities within the Town of Mashpee. <br /> The newly opened office in Summerfield Park provides counseling <br /> services and assistance to residents to improve the quality of living. <br /> Presently, services are being offered to the Tribal Council,Mashpee <br /> Village and Council on Aging in addition to area residents. <br />
