7 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> August 9, 1999 <br /> Request of Oversoul Theater—Use of Town Green: <br /> Correspondence was received from Morgan J. Peters dated July 13, 1999 <br /> requesting the Board grant permission to use the Town Green for a <br /> program on Saturday, August 28, 1999 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. <br /> The"Thump Fest"99"program is proposed to consist of a drum circle of <br /> 5 to 20 drummers, and an audience of 20 to 40. The event will not require <br /> electricity. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to approve the use of the"Collins <br /> Lot" for the Oversoul Theater"Thump Fest"99" as requested on <br /> Saturday,August 28, 1999. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Blythe. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> APPOINTMENTS ANDHEARINGS: <br /> Public Hearing_„Boch„Center_-Sian Request: <br /> Selectman Marsters opened the Public Hearing on the application request <br /> of the Boch Center for the Performing Arts to erect an 8' by 4' sign in a <br /> potion of the layout of Great Neck Road South. <br /> Mrs:Mason,Assistant Town Administrator read aloud the Public Hearing <br /> notice as published. T.K. Thompson,President and Executive Director of <br /> the Boch Center was present to discuss the sign request application. <br /> Mr. Thompson presented a graphic presentation of the proposed sign to <br /> members of the Board of Selectmen for consideration. As noted,the sign <br /> is intended to be placed in a small area of the right of way on Great Neck <br /> Road South until funding has been attained for the Boch Center. <br /> With the Board's approval,Mr. Thompson apply for a special permit with <br /> the Board of Appeals, and go before Design Review and the Building <br /> Department for final approval. <br /> Being no comment,the Board motioned to close the Public Hearing. <br /> i <br />
