10 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> August 9, 1999 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> AFCEE re: Gates Quashnet Bog- (continued) <br /> Correspondence was received from Deputy Fire Chief Sheldon Hamblin <br /> dated August 5, 1999 in agreement with the proposal set forth by Jacobs <br /> Engineering, Robert Sherman, Conservation Agent indicated in his <br /> memorandum of August 5,1999 that the restrictions are justified. <br /> Residents will still have the ability to walk,hike, fish, hunt or pursue other <br /> recreational activities in the area of discussion. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Blythe to approve the request of Jacobs <br /> Engineering to install swing gates and barriers to restrict vehicular <br /> access to the common way paths around the Quashnet Bog area. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: 3-1. Motion carries. <br /> Selectman Leveille in opposition,Selectman Cahalane abstained. <br /> Public Hearing---Zuni Cafe: <br /> Selectman Marsters opened the Public Hearing in accordance with <br /> Chapter 138, Section 77 to afford Mr. Donald Lassman,Esq. as Trustee <br /> for the bankruptcy of Tacosmith, Inc.,d/b/a The Zuni Cafe,the <br /> opportunity to show cause why the All-Alcoholic license should not be <br /> cancelled. <br /> Selectman Leveille stepped down for the above hearing. <br /> Mrs. Mason, Assistant Town Administrator read aloud the Public Hearing <br /> notice as published. It was noted that the license premise was vacated at <br /> the initial public hearing. The ABCC has advised the Board to revoke the <br /> license under Chapter 138, Section 77, and give notice via certified mail to <br /> the Trustee in Bankruptcy. <br /> Being no comment,the Board motioned to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Selectman Cahalane abstained. <br />
