} <br /> 2 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> August 9, 1999 <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORESPONDENCE: <br /> Request for Emergency Repairs to Hemlock Drive: (continued) <br /> The Selectmen have received a number of requests for making emergency <br /> repairs to the private way known as Hemlock Drive. The current road <br /> conditions were evaluated by the Fire Chief and Chief of Police. The road <br /> conditions, specifically a pothole condition and pavement erosion, creates <br /> a possible threat to personal safety of persons customarily using the <br /> roadway on a regular basis. Because of these conditions,the issue has <br /> been deemed a public safety risk. <br /> It was noted that the road conditions of Hemlock Drive are consistent with <br /> the criteria set forth in the 1998 Board of Selectmen's policy relative to <br /> Emergency Repairs of Private Ways. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Leveille to approve the request for <br /> emergency repairs to Hemlock Drive for a sum not to exceed $1500, <br /> and place the residents on notice that this is the final road repair. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> As a result of the recurring nature of road repairs,Hemlock Drive is a <br /> prime candidate for a future betterment conversion to a public road. <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> Apppintment of Licensing Authority Agents: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Blythe to accept the following referenced <br /> positions as Licensing Authority Agents of the Board of Selectmen; <br /> Police Chief Deputy Police Chief <br /> Fire Chief Deputy Fire Chief <br /> Building Inspector Assistant Building Inspector <br /> Health Agent <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> All pertaining license holders in the Town of Mashpee will be informed <br /> of the Board of Selectmen's above referenced action. <br />
