8 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> November 15, 1999 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Request for Sims from Cotuit Corners Homeowners: <br /> The Board reviewed the request of the homeowners known as Cotuit <br /> Corners to have the town provide "No Parking On Island" signs on the <br /> island of Brewster Road. <br /> Correspondence was received from the Chief of Police dated November <br /> 12,1999 recommending the sign request be denied, as this matter is not a <br /> public safety issue. Mr. Taylor, Director of Public Works concurred with <br /> the Police Chief s recommendation. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Leveille to support the recommendation <br /> of the Police Chief and DPW Director,and deny the request for "No <br /> Parking" signs on Brewster Road. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Blythe. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Charter Review Committee--Proposed Ordinance 99-10: <br /> Representatives from the Charter Review Committee were present to <br /> discuss the proposed Ordinance 99-10: To revise the Barnstable County <br /> Home Rule Charter by establishing the Cape Cod Regional; Government, <br /> known as Barnstable County, and transfer certain functions, and properties <br /> to the Commonwealth,the combined Home Rule Charter and legislation. <br /> The committee met briefly with the Selectmen to discuss public safety <br /> functions within the County. The Charter Review Committee meets on <br /> the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Chamber <br /> of the Assembly of Delegates. <br /> The Selectmen requested copies of the proposed ordinance in addition to a <br /> summarization of the services rendered by the County to the Town of <br /> Mashpee. A questionnaire will be remitted to key town departments for <br /> input and review. <br />
