Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> December 6, 1999 <br /> ve <br /> 4 OLD BUSINESS: <br /> ' Cranberry Bog Easement for Discussion: <br /> Conservation Agent,Robert Sherman was present to recommend the <br /> Board accept the Grant of Temporary Easement for environmental cleanup <br /> purposes over certain cranberry bogs known as the Quashnet bog. <br /> Mr. Sherman indicated that funding would support erosion control projects <br /> and the re-design and reconstruction of the John's Pond flume. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to approve and execute the <br /> Quashnet Bog, Grant of Easement to the United States of America <br /> in accordance with the Town's September 1998 offer to sell easement <br /> and Chapter 145 of the Acts of 1999. <br /> Y" <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Blythe. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> Independence House Recognition: <br /> The Board of Selectmen agreed to remit a memorandum to <br /> Sergeant Umina for receiving the Independence House "Domestic <br /> "Violence Awareness Award." The award highlights a lifetime of <br /> achievement in the fight against domestic violence. <br /> Sergeant Umina was commended for his untiring efforts in the field of <br /> domestic violence. The memorandum will be forwarded to the Chief of <br /> Police and Personnel Department. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to authorize the Town <br /> Administrator to remit the letter of recognition to Sergeant Umina as <br /> dated December 6,1999. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Mashpee Medical Center: <br /> Ground Breaking Ceremony—Tuesday, December 7,1999 <br /> 8:00 a.m. @ Route 28 entrance to the Industrial Park. <br />
