The figure was revised to reflect a total request of$11,999,702.
Mr. Whritenour,Executive Secretary indicated that his recommended budget
provides the maximum possible funding for the School Department within
x limited revenues. The budget reflects an increase of It.22%over last year.
With limited funding available, the key goal of the budget process has been to
preserve current service levels. The budget has been prepared to reduce the
Town's dependence on non-recurring revenues such as free cash and the
stabilization account informed Mr. Whritenour.
As a result of the previous years budget, the sum of$1,000,917 remains in the
stabilization fund. The sum of$750,000 is proposed to be used from stabilization
to offset the School Department's fiscal year 1999 educational budget.
