Mashpee Economic Development Industrial Corporation (EDIC) <br /> Minutes — February 25, 2025 <br /> 6:00 PM <br /> Waquoit Meeting Room <br /> Present: Carol Sherman, Pamela McCarthy, Patrice Pimental, Deniste Dutson <br /> Absent: Robyn Simmons <br /> Guests: Stephanie Viva, Mashpee Chamber of Commerce <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Carol Sherman opened the meeting at 6:03 p.m. <br /> 2. Minutes: Denise Dutson moved to approve the minutes of 9/24/2024 and 10/29/2024. <br /> Patrice Pimental seconded;the motion passed unanimously. <br /> 3. Mashpee Chamber <br /> Stephanie submitted her resume to apply tojoin the EDIC. She also talked about some of the <br /> projects she has been working on, especially around local food: <br /> The Mashpee Farmer's Market is a great success. It would be a great place for entrepreneurs <br /> to sell prepared foods but they need facilities to make them. She would like to promote a <br /> community kitchen where people can be serve safe certified, and where entrepreneurs can <br /> use it and sell their products at the farmer's market. She is seeking to find a space fora <br /> community kitchen and is trying to getfunding to create it. There isn't room atthe Commons <br /> for it. She is considering all options. <br /> She sees Mashpee as a hub to move the food that is produced on the Cape (as well as the <br /> food that is harvested here,such as shellfish).Stephanie has participated in work with the tribe <br /> at Maushop farm and strives to broaden and deepen the relationship with them. <br /> The Chamber is also partnering with the South Eastern Economic Development(SEED) <br /> Corporation)to hold a workshop for small businesses on March 27 at Cape Space in the <br /> Commons. The Chamber is paying for lunch forthe participants. Patrice Pimental moved that <br /> the EDIC pay forthe $1,000 sponsorship for the workshop; Denise Dutson seconded the <br /> motion and itwas approved unanimously. <br /> The Chamber is also working on a town ornamentto sell around the holidays to raise money <br /> for the Chamber. <br /> They also plan on having Restaurant Week again—this will be on a smaller scale than before; <br /> people will be able to scan a QR code with their phones to participate. <br /> 4.
