Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes 7 <br /> March 30, 1998. <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> Corresp!2ndenge from Selectman Caff <br /> yn remWading Place Road: <br /> Selectman Caffyn submitted communication to the Board in a memo <br /> dated March 25, 1998 relative to the Wading Place Road posting decision. <br /> Selectman Caffyn indicated that she is an abutter of the subject matter <br /> and will not step down for discussion. Selectman Caffyn stated that she <br /> consulted Jane Labute,the Town Clerk, and has reviewed this matter with <br /> Town Counsel. Selectman Caffyn indicated that she has no conflict of <br /> interest with regards to the discussion, and has nothing financially to gain. <br /> Selectman Caffyn read aloud a letter relative to the Public Safety Dispatcher <br /> issue and restrictive parking policy on Wading Place Road. She asked the <br /> Board to re-consider their decision of March 16, 1998 to update the Town <br /> Traffic Rules, and to enforce no parking signs on Wading Place Road. <br /> Selectman Costa indicated that a petition was presented to the Board of <br /> Selectmen requesting that the no parking law be strictly enforced. The <br /> matter was reviewed, and acted upon by Chief Przybylek. <br /> The matter belongs before the Popponesset Beach Association indicated <br /> Selectman Costa. <br /> Betty Nichols stated that she signed the petition to enforce the no parking <br /> law as a resident of Popponesset,but did not realize the issue was strictly for <br /> Wading Place Road. <br /> Ken Bates, Director of the Popponesset Beach Association indicated that <br /> on street parking is the largest complaint of the area residents. Signage <br /> as posted by the PBA, and approved by the DPW Director were not in <br /> compliance with the rules of the Commonwealth. Mr. Bates indicated that <br /> he went to the Chief of Police and Town of Mashpee to resolve the issue. <br /> Mr. Bates recommended that the concerned residents bring the matter <br /> before the board of directors at their next scheduled meeting. <br /> Concerned resident, Frank Macdonald stated that the dictation of no parking <br /> rules will prohibit family members from visiting. <br /> I <br />
