Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 30, 1998 <br /> Present: Selectman Costa, Selectman Frye, Selectman Marsters, Selectman Caffyn <br /> Executive Secretary Robert Whritenour <br /> Assistant to the Executive Secretary Joyce Mason <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Costa at 6.05 p.m. <br /> Town Hall,Meeting Room #1. <br /> Guests: Finance Committee: <br /> Alec Watt,Nancy Goulart, Sidney Golub,Jim Cleary, Mike Kumin <br /> School Committee: <br /> Kathleen Lynch, Steve Paxton, Maryanne Macdonald, Janice Mills, Terry Cook <br /> MINUTES: <br /> Monday,March 1998 Regular Session: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to approve the Regular Session <br /> minutes of Monday, March 16, 1998 as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Frye. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> Selectman Caffyn abstained. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> School Cmmi e : Bd <br /> The Board of Selectmen met with the Finance Committee and School Committee <br /> for the purpose of reviewing the FY99 School budget. <br /> School Committee Chairman, Kathleen Lynch indicated that the initial School <br /> budget of$11.99 was reduced to $11.75, and has been further reduced to <br /> reflect a total request of$11.65 for fiscal year's 1999 educational spending. <br /> Discussion followed with regards to the Governor's proposal to increase <br /> Mashpee's Chapter 70 resolution aid. Based on the State's anticipated budget, <br /> Mr. Whritenour,Executive Secretary recommended the School Committee <br /> consider a budget of$11.6 million. <br />
