CadetProgram: <br /> William C. Przybylek, Chief of Police was present to discuss the proposed <br /> Police Cadet Program with members of the Board of Selectmen. Chief <br /> Przybylek discussed his memo of May 22, 1998 pertaining to the residential <br /> preference in the recruiting and appointment of Police Officers. <br /> Under the Police Cadet Program, the Selectmen could appoint citizen residents <br /> between the ages of 18 and 23 to the program. Candidates who meet certain <br /> appointment criteria would then serve in a full-time on-the-job training program, <br /> including full-time academy attendance, after which they could be appointed as <br /> Police Officers. <br />
