Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes 10 <br /> August 10, 1998 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Human Services_Discussion_ <br /> Correspondence was received from the Mashpee Human Service <br /> Committee dated August 3,1998 requesting the Selectmen use FY98 <br /> County surplus funds for the purpose of establishing a public health <br /> service facility in Mashpee. <br /> Selectman Caffyn, a member of the committee presented a revised budget <br /> to the Board for consideration. Discussion followed It was noted that <br /> available space for the facility has been located in Summed eld Park. <br /> Communication was also received from the Waterways Commission dated <br /> August 5, 1998 requesting funding from Barnstable County to be applied <br /> to maintenance dredging. <br /> It was noted that the sum of$25,650.15 is available in surplus funds to be <br /> applied to County services. Discussion ensued. <br /> i <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to allocate the sum of$15,000 to <br /> the Human Service budget for the purpose of supplying public health <br /> services,and the remainder for maintenance dredging as requested. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Leveille. <br /> VOTE Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> i <br /> A letter will be submitted to the Assembly of Delegates in request for <br /> consideration to distribute additional surplus funds to allow the Human Service <br /> Committee to continue operation procedures without additional funding from <br /> the taxpayers. <br /> i <br /> i <br /> Selectman Leveille suggested that the Community Development Coordinator <br /> assist with grant funding initiatives to avoid duplicate services. <br /> i <br />
