Board of Selectmen
Minutes 3
August 10, 1998
Town Meeting Warrant Review: (continued)
Article#14: Chief Baker indicated that he will request that the
Selectman consider(2) additional Firefighters EMT positions
effective, January 1, 2000.
Article#15: To fund the repair and renovation of the Town's
Central Fire Station, and approve the design of the South
Mashpee Station.
Correspondence was received from Jim Vaccaro, Chairman
of the Fire Station Building Committee dated August 5, 1998
requesting the Selectmen remove the Fire Station construction
article. The building committee is expected to present a revised
program to meet the infrastructure needs of the Fire Department.
If approved, an article for the May Town Meeting will be prepared.
Chief Baker recommended the Board retain the article to consider
use of available Town funds from the high school project to assist
with station renovation maintenance needs and improvements.
*Approved.
PUBLLCCo
None at this time.
t Review: (continued)
Article#19: Department of Public Works Road Improvement.
It is the consensus of the Board to defer the review
of the above topic. Goals and objectives relative to
public transportation and roadways will be further
reviewed and incorporated into the discussion at the
next scheduled meeting with the Director of Public Works.
