Board of Selectmen
Minutes 2
November 16, 1998
C'OMMMCATIONS AM CORRESPONDENCE:
Blue Spruce Donation
Selectman Frye recommended the Board submit a letter of appreciation
to Roger Mederios for the donation of a 20' blue spruce that was recently
planted at the Town Hall facility.
PolicQ 1hringPolicy Sub-Committeea
As a result of sensitive factors to be discussed in the newly formed sub-committee
charged to review the Police Hiring Policy, Selectman Leveille recommended the
Board formally disband the Police Hiring Sub-Committee.
Selectman Leveille indicated that a working group comprised of the Personnel
Administrator, Chief of Police and Executive Secretary should develop policy for
the Selectmen's review and consideration. The Selectmen should be less vocal
and political in manner to allow the above group to develop formal policy. It was
noted that it was also difficult to schedule sub-committee meetings as a result of
posting requirements.
Motion made by Selectman Leveille to formally disband the Police Hiring
Sub-Committee,and request the Executive Secretary to form a working
group for said purpose, and place a target date of(60) days to develop policy.
Motion seconded by Selectman Frye.
VOTE Unanimous. 4-0.
OLD BUSINESS:
None at this time.
