Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> December 7,1998 <br /> Present: Selectman Marsters, Selectman Frye, Selectman Taylor <br /> Executive Secretary Robert Whritenour <br /> Absent: Selectman Caffyn, Selectman Leveille <br /> Meeting Called to-Order by Chairman Marsters at 9:00 a.m. <br /> Town Hall, Conference Room#1. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Tax Classification Hearinc: <br /> Selectman Marsters opened the Tax Classification Hearing jointly with <br /> members of the Mashpee Water District Commissioners for the purpose <br /> of adopting the manner in which the Town is to be taxed. <br /> David Bailey,Director of Assessing, and several members of the Board of <br /> Assessors were also present. Water District Commissioners in attendance; <br /> Diane Rommelmeyer and Russell Babcock. <br /> Mr. Bailey presented the tax options to the Selectmen and Water District <br /> Commissioners for review and consideration. (enclosed) <br /> Mr. Bailey recommended to adopt the residential factor of I as the preferred <br /> tax option, and not apply a discount to open space nor to a residential exemption. <br /> A brief discussion followed. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Frye. <br /> VQTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Frye to adopt a Residential Factor of t <br /> as recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: Kenneth,yes Curtis,yes Wayne,yes <br /> Diane, yes Russell, yes <br />
