BOARD OF SELECTMEN
MINUTES - REGULAR SESSION
TUESDAY, JANUARY 2, 1990
PAGE THREE
OLD BUSINESS
2 . Memo from Assistant Building Inspector Housing for
Elderly - Mr. Hauck requested a letter from the Board of
Selectmen stating that the home rule requirement has been
waived by the Town and that all permit fees have been
waived for the Housing for Families and Housing for the
Elderly project .
Mr. Lawrence asked why the fees for this project would be
waived, if other project fees were not waived, i . e. , Christ
the King Parish, Schools, etc. Mr. Hauck stated that if
the State has to pay these fees, that the Town would drop
out of eligibility for the project.
Mr. Carter moved to waive any contrary requirements of Town
by-laws and zoning regulations insofar as the Board of
Selectmen may do so and approve the project as proposed.
Mr. Hanson seconded the motion. Mr. Gottlieb and Mr.
Carter were in favor. Mr. Lawrence was opposed.
S. Proposed Relocation of Firearms Training Site - The Board
discussed the relocation of the Firearms Training Site to
the Landfill Site. Mr. Virgilio stated that the estimated
cost would be $5, 000. The Board agreed that further
discussion should include Brad Fish of the Police
Department.
4. Communication from DEM re: Great Oak Road - The Board
received a letter from DEM indicating their understanding
of the agreement for Great Oak Road was that the $ 15, 000
would be made in three payments of $5, 000. It was the
impression of the Board, however, that the $ 15,000 would be
paid up front.
Mr. Lawrence moved to resume discussions relative to Great
Oak Road with South Cape Beach Committee the State and
abutters involved. Mr. Gottlieb seconded the motion. All
were in favor.
Mr. Gottlieb suggested that Mr. V i rg i l i o complete work and
bill the State each time work is completed, rather than in
the $4900 increments.
