BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> MINUTES - REGULAR SESSION <br /> MONDAY, APRIL 9, 1990 <br /> PAGE THREE <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> #3 (Cont. ) <br /> The new school would cost approximately $97. 40 per square <br /> foot, reimbursed on a 60/40 split with the State, to be <br /> about $40. 00 per square foot. Dr. DeMoura stated that <br /> there was an alternate plan for this new school to include <br /> an auditorium (this would not be reimburseable) . <br /> There was discussion concerning the Committee going to <br /> Annual Town Meeting for architectural fees ($400,000) . Mr. <br /> Lawrence and Dr. DeMoura agreed, that the timing for the <br /> Annual Town Meeting would not be attainable, but that <br /> possibly a Special Town Meeting could be held in June for <br /> this purpose. <br /> Dr. DeMoura requested that the Board approve an addtional <br /> $3499 over and above the $70, 000 contract with Carlson <br /> Associates. These costs are $ 1 ,000 for a Perculation test <br /> and $2499 for a Preliminary Report. <br /> Mr. Hanson moved to inform the Treasurer that the Board of <br /> Selectmen authorize the borrowing of the additional <br /> $3 ,499. 00 as requested by the School Building Committee <br /> Mr. Carter seconded the motion. Mr. Gottlieb was opposed. <br /> Mr. Lawrence abstained. <br /> The Board directed Mr. Harrington to draft a policy letter to <br /> all Committees stating that work by outisde firms cannot be done <br /> unless authorized by a signed contract . <br /> 4. MICHAEL TONER - AFFORDABLE HOUSING COMMITTEE -- Michael <br /> Toner attended to request that an Affordable Housing <br /> Committee be established with a membership to include two <br /> representatives from the Board of Selectmen, two <br /> representatives from the Housing Authority and the <br /> Executive Secretary. Mr. Gottlieb offered to serve on the <br /> Committee. <br />
