4
TOWN OF .MASHPEE
DESIGN REVIEW COMMITTEE MEETING
January 22, 19.97
The Design Review Committee met at 6:30 p.m. on
Wednesday, January 22, 1997 at the Carol Jacobson
Senior Center, Great Neck Road North.
Committee Members Present: William Hauck, Ex Officio;
Ed Govoni, Mary LeBlanc, and Thomas F. O'Hara.
Also in attendance: Deputy Fire Chief Sheldon Hamblin.
1. Seabrook Shores
Margaret Connors and Herbert Bearack, representing
Seabrook Shores (not Seabrook Meadows) , presented a
sign application for a 40" x 35" rock placed on the
corner of Bayshore Drive and Monomoscoy Road. The rock
is situated 26' from the center of the road. The 18"
block letters will be painted black and no other color.
The design is the same configuration as a sign down the
street; it was noted a sign on each entrance is
allowed. There was no objection to the sign as
presented.
2 . Little River Boat Yard
Attorney Robert Mills and Jonathan Burtis presented
detailed plans proposing the construction of a 48'x 60,
metal frame building replacing the existing hoophouse.
The proposed metal building will allow Mr. -Burtis to
work in one area rather than throughout the yard.
Mr. Burtis said the present plastic material will come
down allowing for a neater and more environmentally
sound appearance. The proposed- light stone color
should be compatible with the office building, which is
gray. Drains will be inside. the building.
Also planned is an addition of a second story over the
existing office. The new addition will be used for
office space and a conference room, not as living
space.
The matter of a portable boat rack is scheduled to be
reviewed by the ZBA. it was suggested 6 ft. arborvitae
be planted approximately 5 ft. apart in order to fill
in a space along the fence .which abutters may find
objectionable.
