. I
Design Review -2- May 13, 1998
3 . Burger King, Old Barnstable Road - Atty. Kevin„-Kirrane
The proposed tower structure was eliminated from the new
plans. An outdoor playground is planned which Mr. Wyman said
could be enclosed, similar to the Yarmouth Burger King, if
preferred.
Construction materials and architecture were discussed in
detail. The first 3 or 4 ft. off the ground will be brick,
then Cape Cod Gray clapboard will be utilized. There was
strong opposition to vinyl siding. The roof will consist of
architectural grade shingle. Earthy colors are preferred
throughout. Dental work will be used and the elevation will
remain the same straight across.
There will be' wood on top and bottom of the red band across
the top of the building; the band will be picture--framed
without any lights behind it. No yellow band will be used.
' Burger King ' will be externally lit. Signs will be made of
wood. The, Cape Cod Commission will be consulted to determine
lighting and height policy. It was noted the Stop & Shop
lighting at night time is excellent and perhaps could be used
as a model.
Next Scheduled Meeting: Wednesday, May 27, 1998
Adjournment: 7 :42 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
,::?aJ&;,U
Jane A.
