TOWN OF MASHPEE
DESIGN REVIEW COMMITTEE MEETING
June 24, 1998
The Design Review Committee met at 6: 30 p.m. on Wednesday,
June 24, 1998 at the Lower Level of Mashpee Town Hall .
Committee Members Present : William Hauck, Ex Officio;
Mary LeBlanc; Thomas F. O' Hara .
Absent : Ed Govoni, Chairman; Patrick Coffey
1 . Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, Route 151
Atty. Kevin Kirrane displayed a different site plan from the
previously presented plan. This plan more clearly establishes
the northern boundary line. There was no problem with the
boundary line as shown. Engineering plans showed parking and
additional access . A curb cut will be needed.
It may be necessary to drive their own well because of water
restrictions . This would present no problem. It was
mentioned that no more than 15% or 2500 sq. ft of a lot can be
impervious . Drainage will have to be designed for the parking
lot .
Building materials were discussed at length. The consensus
was that vinyl clapboards are unacceptable . White cedar will
be used on the sides and rear and preferably on the front .
There were no specs on the shingles . The building will be
white with black shutters.
Light and cheerful landscaping was recommended. A natural
buffer and screening will remain in the back and particularly
on the residential side. It was mentioned the minimum tree
size should be 2 . 5" to 3" caliper (not 2" ) which should be
I
noted on the landscaping plan.
Lighting, height of poles, landscaping, and signage will be
shown on the next plan.
Adjournment : 7 : 05 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Ja e A.
