TOWN OF MASHPEE
DESIGN REVIEW COMMITTEE MEETING
August 11, 1999
The Design Review Committee met at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 1999
in Meeting Room #3 at the Lower Level of Mashpee Town Hail.
Committee Members Present: William Hauck, Ex Officio; Thomas F. O'Hara;
Mary LeBlanc; Jim Dorgan and Walter Yarosh.
Also Present: Russ Wheeler
Minutes of July 14, 1999
Corrections:
3rd paragraph, 41h sentence should read: "The consensus was that
certain areas should be left natural and be augmented with landscaping."
5th paragraph, 3' sentence should read: "Underpianting will be utilized for
screening."
VOTED: On a motion made by Ms. LeBlanc and seconded by Mr. O'Hara it was
unanimously voted to accept the Minutes of July 14, 1999 as corrected.
1. Boch Center for the Performing Arts, Great Neck Road South —
Temporary Sign
Mr. T. K. Thompson, President.of the Boch Center for the Performing Arts,
presented a plan for the installation of a temporary, two-sided, 4' x 8' sign to be
located on Great Neck Road South just before the power lines. A size variance will
be requested from the Board of Appeals.
It was suggested some shrubs be planted around the non-lit structure. The sign
should be placed 10 ft. back to ensure that snow plows do not hit it. It is hoped it
will be more decorative, with capping on the 4 x 4 posts and enframed so it does not
look like a billboard. The bottom of the sign will be 4 ft. off the ground.
2. Mashpee Commons — CVS Plan Review
Mr. Randall Imai illustrated modifications to the previous plan for the CVS building to
be located at Rt. 28 & North Street in Mashpee Commons. Material costs have
necessitated changes along the rear wall, Mr. Imai noted. They would like to utilize
concrete block and dress it up with paint , trellises and/or
landscaping.
