Mashpee Design Review Committee
Minutes of Meeting Held Wednesday,August 18,2004
Mashpee Town Hall Meeting Room 3
Committee Members Present: Thomas O'Hara,Mary LeBlanc,Russell Wheeler, and. Robert Nelson(Mr.
Nelson exited meeting at 8:50 a.m.).
Absent: Walter Yarosh.
Summa
• Clover Paving—Applicant scheduling another meeting with Design Review and will submit a revised
Plan for consideration at that meeting.
• Finard&. Company—Temporary signs to be placed at Southcape Village at Shellback Way and Donna's
Lane were approved with conditions that signs are under 20 square feet; will be placed where noted on
the proposed Plans; and will not be placed until Building Department issues Permit to do so.
• Mashpee Shell—No one appeared for applicant; sign not approved.
Tom O'Hara, Acting Chairman, called the meeting to order at 8.30 a.m.
Site Plan and Landsca a Review
Clover Paving
Route 28
Applicant: Michael Borselli
Attorney Kevin Kirrane, and Daren McDonald began a brief discussion with the Committee going over the
proposed Plan. Michael Borselli then arrived and joined the discussion and he showed a copy of his July 23
revised Plan that he is working on which incorporated some of the changes resulting from the July 21 Site Plan
Review Meeting. There followed an in-depth discussion of the revised Plan. Some of the points discussed
were:
• Plan is being modified to retain 10 foot buffer.
• Applicant will consider possibility of moving everything forward towards Route 28 with new plantings,
but this would require ZBA approval of variance request after Design Review. Benefit of moving
everything forward is that it eliminates 12 foot walls..
• For side buffers, they can cut islands in half and add vegetation.
• New Plan should show area is natural and undisturbed; add more vegetation.
• Detailed Landscape Plan to be included.
• Dumpster to be shown on Plan.
• Design Review suggested break the continuous wall in front by adding windows.
• Also suggested adding gable roofing at front to make metal building blend in more with area.
• Side wall—landscape out to look better.
• Colors on building should be similar to what's shown on Site Plan.
• Signage approval will be needed. Over-all signage is 40 square feet in industrial area of free-standing
sign. Sign has to be 5 feet off of property line.
Conclusion: Applicant scheduling another meeting with Design Review and will submit a revised Plan
for consideration at that meeting.
