Doris Hughes
12 Tradewinds Drive
Applicant Doris Hughes was present. In addition, Penny Feeney, President of Seabrook Village
Association, was also present.
Doris Hughes said she has 4 pugs that are household pets and are not left outside. She has a b
foot chain link fence around her property. She said her deck was made into a room for the dogs
and it is heated and air conditioned. She takes the waste to the dump. She also has letters of
support from the neighbors.
Penny Feeney addressed the Committee saying the neighborhood has no problem with Doris but a
big concern is that a kennel might come to the neighborhood. Therefore they are changing their
Association by-laws to not allow more than 3 dogs in the future, but they are going to grandfather
Doris to allow her to keep the 4 pugs she currently has.
Motion: Ronny Warden motioned to approve the application; Ben Perry seconded the
motion; and all voting Committee members approved. Vote: 7-0.
Lillian Ainsworth
31 High Sachem Road
No one appeared on behalf of applicant.
Motion: Tom Fudala motioned to deny approval of the application because notices were not
mailed to the abutters; because the applicant didn't show up for the hearing; and because
the application indicates they drop the feces over the fence. Ronny Warden seconded this
motion; and all voting Committee members voted to deny the application. Vote: 7-0.
CONCLUSION: 5 Applicants appeared for review and were approved. All were
individually informed during their review that under the approved permit they were limited
to 9 dogs; their next step is to go to Town Clerk and file a license; they will have to pay a
yearly renewal fee; and at least once a year animal control will.do an inspection.
Since 2 Committee attendees are from the Fire Department,in tallying the vote only 1 vote
submitted from Fire Department.
Approval of Minutes...The Minutes of February 7, 2008 as amended were approved.
Meeting adjourned at 10:35 a.m.
r Giliberti
Recording Secretary
