No cutting of fish
will be done at the site. They will receive the fresh fish ready for sale. They will have a live lobster tank and
Mr. McCarthy said they are going to add floor support to support this 8 gallon tank. No food will be cooked,
not even for take-out. This is a retail fish business. Following points were discussed during the review:
• Building has really deteriorated and Committee voiced concern that the glass window is a safety issue.
Mr. McCarthy said they are aware of this and are looking into the matter.
• Applicant to designate some handicap parking. Charlie Maintanis said 1 van accessible space should be
designated with sign stating van accessible.
• Walter Yarosh suggested that even if not needed, he would opt to paint parking spaces as a safety
measure.
• Change of occupancy, but still being used for retail. However Committee suggested to Applicant that it
would be a good idea to determine whether or not there was a Special Permit on this property.
Applicant will check this point with ZBA.
• Tom Fudala pointed out that current laws apply unless shown property is grandfathered.
• Just for the record, Tom Fudala noted that this property is subject to ongoing Cape Cod Commission and
State review.
• Glen Harrington commented that the property was inspected by Board of Health and right now there is
overflow from cess pool system. Will a Title V septic tank be installed?
• Glen asked whether or not they'll have a filter system..Mr. McCarthy responded"yes".
• Glen Harrington pointed out that the Board of Health may require--and he would suggest a serve safe
certified food manager. Mr. McCarthy said they have that.
• Mr. McCarthy said they will have 2-door freezers with compressors running them and they may put
some out back. However, Walter Yarosh cautioned him about storing outside. Mr. McCarthy said he
won't do it then, since he doesn't need the extra storage space..
