Willowbend County Club continued <br /> Conclusion: <br /> • Applicant to provide Plans to the Committee showing elevations of all the buildings and garages they <br /> are going to put in. <br /> • Applicant said they are going back to the drawing board and look at making some adjustments and look <br /> at alternatives. <br /> • Depth of some of the buildings is 60 feet deep. Applicant will look at side-to-side, rather than just back- <br /> to-back approach. <br /> • 3-story buildings...Fire Department need very good truck access, which they do not have right now. <br /> • Applicants said they will return to the Committee at next meeting on May 22°d with revised Plans; Tom <br /> Fudala and Sheldon Hamblin offered to meet with applicant as they redraft the plans if that would be <br /> helpful. <br /> Mashpee Public Library <br /> 64 Steeple Street <br /> Representative—Catherine Laurent <br /> Catherine Laurent appeared as a representative of the Planning and Construction Committee and showed a site <br /> layout Plan of the proposed new Library, and also an elevation Plan. Catherine said they met preliminarily with <br /> the Fire Department. Walter Yarosh asked whether or not the sidewalk at the corner of the Library property on <br /> Steeple Street could be extended right up to the building walkway so that pedestrians won't have to cut across <br /> the lawn;they'll have a walkway. Catherine said she would ask the Committee to look at that. Information <br /> provided by Catherine to the Committee included the following.- <br /> • Applied to ZBA for 5 variances...4 for setback; 1 for building height. Tom Fudala suggested making <br /> the setback request for 35 feet. <br /> • Only access to the Library building will be off of Steeple Street. <br /> • Still meeting with Mashpee Commons to resolve some issues with them;Mashpee Commons has design <br /> and site approval. <br /> • Steeple Street will be widened and they will be doing improvements to the street. The Committee <br /> suggested that Mashpee Commons extend the sidewalk from the Medical Building all the way up to <br /> Job's Fishing Road. <br /> • Mashpee Commons and Town will look at planning landscaping on Route 151 from Job's Fishing Road <br /> down to Commons. <br /> • Parking spaces are 9 feet wide. Tom Fudala suggested making them 9-1/2 feet wide. Catherine will <br /> have parking spaces changed to the 9-1/2 feet width. <br /> • Committee asked that the sidewalk be connected from the rear parking lot to the front of the building on <br /> the south side elevation adjacent to the children's exterior play area. <br /> • Will have bike rank and this will be shown on landscape plan. <br /> • Children's area outside will be fenced. <br /> • Cupola will probably be an alternate since the cost will be about$50,000, Walter Yarosh suggested that <br /> maybe someone will donate it. <br /> • Designed the building as energy efficient as possible. . <br /> • Going out to bid the end of July or beginning of August. <br /> Building will be tied into Mashpee Commons' sewer system. <br /> Mashpee Commons will provide street lighting on Steeple Street. <br /> 2 <br />
