Mashpee 130 Shoppes,Inc. (Continued)
• Sobolowski apologized to the Committee. They said the site plan was what the architect was to follow
and they would take care of this. Tom Jalowy suggested doing at larger scale because it is hard
deciphering what measures up to what.
• Will need irrigation system. Tom Jalowy offered to meet with them and make suggestions regarding
landscape plan.
• Dumpster corral to be shown on plans.
• Bob Nelson commented that the Special Permit that was granted was only for the 2 summer residential
buildings. He also commented that now they are not using them for medical use. Peter said they made a
correction regarding this and they will also correct where they state in the permit it would be residences.
• Tom Fudala pointed out that they would need to have an irrigation system that would not contaminate
ground water and they cannot connect irrigation into Mashpee water system.
• Suggestion was made that they somehow make a separation so the bike path is visually separated from
the road for safety reasons. Catherine Laurent said they either need to have a curb or need to have a 5
foot separation. In discussing walkways/bike paths, Walter commented that each phase gets done by
developer and town individually and then all get connected along the way. Applicant will work with
DPW on this. Catherine will meet with Ann and Peter to discuss separation between existing sidewalk
on 130 and bike path issues, as well as providing some type of sidewalk along Ashumet Road.
Conclusion:
• Design Review Committee will not permit buffer being removed. Buffer at back and at side must
be maintained.
• Tree placement to be worked out with Tom Jalowy.
• Glen Harrington said Board of Health must see commercial site plan layout for Board review.
• Walter said the Historic group will require an as-built plan and then show modifications—that is,
what's being changed. Tom Fudala commented that he never saw architectural plans. He said
moving doors/windows will have historic issues.
• Existing footprint with dimensions should be on plans. If they enclose porch then they're
increasing the footprint and this was never approved.
• Contractor construction documents will be needed.
• Outdoor lighting is mandated in commercial area.
• Plans should show which doors are handicap accessible.
• Peter said they will provide a separate grading plan.
Foley's Auto Repair
129 Industrial Drive,Unit#5
Representative.—Gary Beaulieu
erate an auto repair sho
Gary Beaulieu appeared. He said he wants to open an auto repair shop and was told he needs a Special Permit.
This is the first time for him so he wants input on what he should do. Following points were discussed:
• Original permit use is individual ownership and he would be changing to public use.
• Sheldon said he needs to get a plan to be sure sprinkler system still meets requirements for this use.
• Walter suggested he get the original plans because parking, etc. might be different for this use.
• Glen Harrington asked: Any welding or cutting; any spray booth at all? Mr.Beaulieu responded"no".
He said he has a waste oil drum, oil filter drum, and antifreeze and has a service picking up this waste.
2
