Meeting of ✓ � Mashpee Design Review Committee and Mashpee Plan Review Committee Held Thursday, March 25, 2010 Mashpee Town Hall Meeting Room 3 Design Review Members Present: Robert Nelson. Plan Review Members Present: Charlie Maintanis, Local Inspector Sheldon Hamblin, Deputy Fire Chief Glen Harrington, Health Agent Ronnie Warden, Assistant Health Agent Ben Perry, Animal Control Officer Drew McManus, Conservation Agent Also Present: Joel Clifford, Fire Inspector Audience: Mr. Fox—42 Tri-Town Circle Mr. Sullivan — 51 Horseshoe Bend Way M/M Carignan — 55 Horseshoe Bend Way Mr. Woodward —50 Horseshoe Bend Way Mr. Crosby —44 Horseshoe Bend Way Charlie Maintanis called the meeting to order at 9:18 a.m. Ronnie Warden to attend and vote at personal kennel hearing;_Glen_ Harrington attending and_toting_ - _ at accessory-apartment-hearing.— 29 Tri-Town Circle Sandra Cobb Request for a personal kennel j Sandra Cobb appeared. She has 6 Chihauhau dogs...the mother, father and 4 pups. The females are fixed and she said she has no intentions of breeding; no day care or no boarding of dogs. She said all 6 dogs are vaccinated; all licensed. Glen Harrington advised that the Board of Health approved the application pending inspection by the animal inspectors. Public-Comment The audience attendees were all neighbors; had received notice of the hearing; and all had voiced objection to approving this personal kennel. Each neighbor voiced their concerns, which were basically the same issues—namely: • 6 dogs constantly barking is big issue. • Dogs are loud. • Concerned about property values going down. • One neighbor has his house up for sale and lost at least one buyer due to dog barking noise. • Letter sent from one of the neighbors that they are "yapping" dogs. • Oppose personal kennel'in the area. Lots are too small and houses too close together.
