MINUTES BOARD OF REGISTRARS Mashpee Town Hall- Town Clerk's Office 16 Great Neck Road North Mashpee, MA 02649 Friday, October 27, 2023 11:00 A.M.—Town Clerk's Office PRESENT Ernest Virgilio, Deborah Kaye, Alexis Hanson and Judy Mooney Call to Order: Meeting convened at 11:04 A.M. Mr. Virgilio made a motion to begin the meeting. Ms. Kaye seconded the motion. MINUTES Approval of January 31, 2023 Minutes Approved Approval of April 2, 2023 Minutes Approved NEW BUSINESS 1. Ms. Kaye discussed with the Board the requirements of Early Voting for the November 7th, 2023 Special Town Election. She would like to offer Early Voting In-Person. The New Vote Act of 2022 requires that the Select Board vote to approve this option requested and approved by the Board of Registrars. Ms. Kaye discussed the reason for the change to the date of the Special Town Election which was moved to November 28, 2023. On October 24, 2023 at the Select Board meeting, a vote was taken to move the Special Town Election to November 28, 2023. Town Counsel recommended that the Town keep it as planned for November 7, stating that the Bonding for the ballot question was all set to continue with the November 7, 2023 election. Select Board voted to change the date to November 28, 2024. The proposed dates for this In-Person voting would be at Town Hall from November 13- 17 and the hours would be 8:30-4:30. The voters will still be able to Vote by Mail if they choose.
