MINUTES OF MEETING <br /> PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> /� TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> February 3, 1975 7:30 pm <br /> ; 1 <br /> r'RESENT: R Graham, W Clendenin, J Mzlone, R Maxim, C Brown <br /> A letter will be sent to Judy Alberico, Chairperson of the School Committee <br /> stating that the Personnel Board and Finance Committees have agreed in principle to <br /> a 5% or 6% cost of living recommendation for all town employees, to be offered <br /> at annual town meeting. <br /> Letters will be sera to all department heads concerning merit increases for <br /> their respective employees, Step raises are not automatic and each department head <br /> under the Salary Administration Plan will be required to complete a Performance <br /> Appraisal Form for each member of his department at least thirty days prior to the <br /> effective date of the merit raise, which is based on the anniversary date of em- <br /> ployment. These appraisals must then be submitted to the Executive Secretary for <br /> his review and comments, All employees should then be apprised of the comments <br /> of the reviewers and sign such reports, The Personnel Board will then review the <br /> recommendations and if a change is in order we will make the necessary notification <br /> to the Treasurer's office, <br /> The performance appraisals for all employees will be initially required no <br /> later than April 1, 1975, Any department failing to do so will not have the <br /> recommendations of the Personnel Board for the annual town meeting, <br /> Each Department Head, subject to the SAP must initiate his own performance <br /> ,--preview. This performance appraisal will be conducted by first the Executive <br /> ecretary, and then endorsed by the Board of Selectmen, <br /> \ There was a discussion of CETA .personnel working for the town and Mr.. McMahon <br /> was asked for an exact breakdown of the Titles, and what if any is the town's <br /> obligation to these employees„ <br /> A letter will be sent to the Selectmen regarding CETA employees and their <br /> salaries, <br /> Florence Lucas was present to discuss classification and salaries for_ <br /> personnel in her department, <br /> Mr McMahon will write a letter to Personnel Board informing of each member's <br /> date of appointment and when each term expires, <br /> Y <br /> Mr. McMahon will extend an invitation to Selectmen to attend a Personnel Board <br /> meeting in the near future to evaluate employees in their department and to discuss <br /> their preparation of evaluation reports on department heads for the purpose of <br /> merit increases. <br /> There was a discussion of the proposed full-time Building Inspector position. <br /> There will be farther study on this and Mr Harold Collins, part-time Building <br /> Inspector will be invited to attend next week's meeting to discuss this position, <br /> Mr Maxim will inquire as to any time limit on-collective bargaining prior <br /> ---",to annual town meeting, <br /> Having no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:20 p.m, <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br />
