MINUTES OF PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> MEEtIN.G OF JUNE 21, 1982 <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> The following members of the Personnel Board were present for tonight's meeting: <br /> Robert Sullivan, Chairman, Curtis Woodbury and Richard MacDonald (arriving late) <br /> Chairman Sullivan called the-meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> A ointment to Personnel Board <br /> Richard MacDonald was appointed to the Personnel Board, effective as of June 16, <br /> to fill the unexpired term of James Rich. <br /> Request for Vacation Carry Over <br /> The Personnel Board voted to send all the information regarding. requestsby several <br /> police officers to carry over the excess of vacation 'time into the next fiscal year <br /> to Atty. Reardon for a legal opinion. <br /> Lifeguard opening <br /> Upon receipt of a letter from Wendy Rubin dated June 18 notifying the Personnel Board <br /> that Kathryn Dunn resigned as a lifeguard, the Board unanimously voted to'recommend <br /> to the Board of Selectmen that Carl K. Perron be appointed as Lifeguard. <br /> Administrative SecretarZ 2pening <br /> A letter of resignation dated June 21 from Grace Erdman was read into the minutes. <br /> • The Personnel Board approved the advertising of the position. <br /> Temporary Laborer <br /> The Personnel Board received a memo from the Highway Department advising them that <br /> Darin Tiexiera was hired as a temporary laborer, effective as of June 14. Bob stated <br /> that he would like the Personnel Board to be notified in advance of any new hiring. <br /> The secretary informed the Board that a memo had been sent to the Highway Department. <br /> Violation of Contract - re: Varden Kelley <br /> Copies of letters sent to Varden Kelley dated June 9 and June '15 were received from <br /> Barbara Hammond regarding an absence from work by Varden. They were read into the <br /> minutes and will be kept on file.. <br /> Letter from EOCD <br /> A letter from the Executive .Office of Communities and Development dated June 10 re- <br /> garding personnel classification and salary study was received. The Board asked the <br /> secretary to put this letter on the agenda for review at their meeting of June 28. <br /> Fire Chief Interviews <br /> The Personnel Board,along with the assistance of Chief Mills, continued the interview- <br /> ing process of the Fire Chief candidates. The following applicants were interviewed <br /> at tonight's meeting: Robert. Pelletier of Springfield, Vt., Thomas Eaves of Chelsea, <br /> James J. Priestly of Dennis, and James Nally of Worcester'. Upon review of all the <br /> applicants interviewed, the Personnel Board unanimously voted to recommend to the Board <br /> of Selectmen that the following candidates be considered: William Jones, James Priest- <br /> ley and James Nally. (Note: James Nally called the. next day and asked that his applica- <br /> tion be withdrawn) . <br /> The meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m. The next Personnel Board meeting was scheduled for <br /> June 28. <br />
