x a <br /> MINUTES OF PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> • MARCH 87 1982 <br /> The Personnel Board Meeting was called to order at 7:10 P.M. The following members <br /> of the Board were present: James F. Rich, Chairman, Caroline Gilligan, Bob Sullivan <br /> and Curtis Woodbury. <br /> The first order of business was a memo which was received the the Board of Selectmen <br /> requesting that George Beninghof, an applicant for the town accountant position, be <br /> interviewed by the Personnel Board. The secretary advised the Board that she followed <br /> through on the Selectmen's request and scheduled Mr. Beninghof for an 8:30 P.M. ap- <br /> pointment. <br /> The town accountant interviews were conducted along with the Executive Secretary. <br /> There were five candidates as follows: Claire O'Malley, Vernice Polka, James Martin <br /> Ann Shaw and George Beninghof. The interview evaluation form drawn up by the Execu- <br /> tive Secretary was used by the Personnel Board to grade the applicants on their inter- <br /> est in the position, experience in municipal accounting, administrative/supervisory ex- <br /> perience, knowledge of accounting concepts and issues, enthusiasm, demeanor, inter- <br /> personal skills, creativity and leadership. No recommendations will be made until the <br /> Executive Secretary checks into the references of the candidates. Authority for re- <br /> lease of information forms were signed by the candidates, except George Beninghof. <br /> Collective Bargaining Information <br /> • The Attorney General has approved the Town By-law modification which was accepted at <br /> the November 9, 1982 Special Town Meeting that designated the Board of Selectmen as <br /> the bargaining agent for the Town. Attorney Michael Gilman has been retained by the <br /> Board of Selectmen to represent the Town in the collective bargaining process. <br /> Temporary Positions <br /> During Walter Jacobson's absence from February 26 to March 8, Burley Greene will be <br /> the temporary Superintendent of Streets, Oliver Pocknett will act as temporary Fore- <br /> man and Horace Pocknett will act as temporary Heavy Equipment Foreman. <br /> Letter of Commendation <br /> A letter from Joe Murphy to Helen Kondochriste commending her for her professionalism <br /> in the handling of claims promptly and completely was read into the minutes. <br /> Meeting With The Selectmen <br /> A letter dated March 2 was received from the Selectmen requesting the Personnel Board's <br /> presence at their meeting of March 17 at 2:30 P.M. The Personnel Board will discuss <br /> this at their next meeting. <br /> Upgrade of Position <br /> A letter from the Executive Secretary dated March 8 was read into the minutes regarding <br /> the approval of the Selectmen to upgrade the position of Lucinda Erdman from Secretary/ <br /> • Dispatcher to Administrative Secretary. The Personnel Board will discuss this at their <br /> next meeting. <br />
