OL <br /> Personnel Board's Minutes of <br /> February 22, 1982 Page 2 <br /> Wage Account <br /> A memo from the Acting Town Accountant, Vernice Polka, was read into the minutes ad- <br /> vising the Personnel Board of their wage account balance through February 26, 1982. <br /> Watch Commander-Corporal - Police Department <br /> A copy of a memo from Chief Frye assigning William A. Paolini, Patrolman, to the <br /> Watch Commander Corporal was received and read into the minutes. This is a temporary <br /> assignment which will expire on June 30, 1982. <br /> Seminar <br /> An approval by the members of the Board was given for the Secretary to attend a <br /> seminar on Tuesday, February 23, by Digital on word processing. <br /> Session of the Command Training Program <br /> A copy of a letter from Charles Barry, N.E. Institute of Law Enforcement Management to <br /> Chief Frye was received and read into the minutes. Ronald Bevacqua completed the three- <br /> week session of the Command Training Program. <br /> Job In]urY <br /> • Roger Medeiros will be having surgery on his right knee due to a job injury last November. <br /> He will be out for four to six weeks. <br /> Moderator's Pay <br /> The Board of Selectmen voted at their meeting on February 3 that the Town Moderator who <br /> resigned in January, 1982, receive one half of the salary appropriated for the year. The <br /> balance should be retained in the account, possibly to be used to pay a temporary substi- <br /> tute for the Moderator for the balance of this year. <br /> Wage Re-Opener for Firefighters <br /> A letter dated February 11 from Paul Frazier was read into the minutes requesting to be- <br /> gin negotiations on wages, clothing and equipment, longevity and reduction in force. The <br /> secretary was asked to send a letter to Mr. Chase, President of the Mashpee Permanent <br /> Firefighters Association, telling him to direct any bargaining unit communications to the <br /> Board of Selectmen via Executive Secretary. <br /> Minutes <br /> The minutes of December 7 and December 147 1981 were approved. Also, the minutes of <br /> January 25 and February 1, 1982 were accepted. <br /> Police Interviews <br /> The Board was reminded by the Secretary that interviews will be conducted for the police <br /> . position at the next meeting. The exams will be conducted commencing at 5:OOP.M. The <br /> Secretary was given permission to conduct the exams along with Chief Frye and/or Sergeant <br /> Cooper. <br /> The meeting adjourned at 9:10 P.M. <br />
