Personnel Board Meeting Minutes of February 17 , 1988 Page 2 Police Candidate - Joseph Yukna The Board reviewed a request from police candidate , Joseph Yukna , to retake the psychological exam as Dr . Barry expressed reservations about some of the test results of his psychological exam and could not recommend him for the '' I police.•academy . Mr . Yukna states in his letter dated February 11 , 1988 that Ife'n is willing to take financial responsibility for the retest . The Board was in agreement to have the candidate retested with Dr . Barry at his own expense . Chairman -Sullivan commented that policy should be set for an appeal process . Town Hall Offices - Relocation The Board received a_memo dated February 16 from Selectman Hanson advising them of the major rehabilitation to Town Hail to accommodate classrooms and office space . They noted that the Personnel Office would be moved into the Accounting Office . Chairman Sullivan asked Ben Lofchie to make sure that a petition up to the ceiling would be constructed and to request that it be sound proof . Inter-Department Meetings h Te Board reviewed a memo dated February 10 from the Executive Secretary advising all Department Heads that inter-department meetings will be held again on the first Tuesday of each month beginning March 1 in the Selectmen ' s Office and that items could be included on the agenda but should be received at least ten days prior to the meeting . Chairman Sullivan asked the secretary to attend the meeting scheduled for .March 1 at 8 : 30 a .m .- and to adjust her hours -to leave a half hour earlier . The Board did not have "•any items ' for the agenda . Off' Letter from Dr . Silva The Board reviewed 'a—letter dated January 14 from Dr . Silva , the town physi- cian , stating that due ^.to" rising costs of' providing medical care and the increase in demand for medical services in the area where there is a short- age of primary care physicians , it has become necessary for him to propose an increase in the compensation for providing the same. standard of quality care that the employees of the Town of Mashpee have come to expect from his office : He states that na. increases have been made since the original agree- ment in. 1985 : Chairman Sullvan 'asked that the Board respond by sending Dr : Silva a letter advising them that they concur with the proposed price in- creases ; however , that he be asked to review the rates yearly instead of going up 22 o in one year. Meeting With Selectmen -. March 2 The Board was advised that�the�Board of Selectmen wished to meet with them on March 2 in response to the Personnel Board ' s memorandum' of January 19 relative to various non-union positions and article which will be placed on the warrant for Annual Town Meeting . The Board noted a •copy of an article being submitted by the Shellfish Officer ' and the Harbormaster requesting Assistant Waterways funding paying an indi- vidual at $8 an hour .
