Personnel Board Meeting <br /> Minutes of February 17 , 1988 Page 2 <br /> Police Candidate - Joseph Yukna <br /> The Board reviewed a request from police candidate , Joseph Yukna , to retake <br /> the psychological exam as Dr . Barry expressed reservations about some of the <br /> test results of his psychological exam and could not recommend him for the '' <br /> I <br /> police.•academy . Mr . Yukna states in his letter dated February 11 , 1988 that <br /> Ife'n is willing to take financial responsibility for the retest . <br /> The Board was in agreement to have the candidate retested with Dr . Barry at <br /> his own expense . Chairman -Sullivan commented that policy should be set for <br /> an appeal process . <br /> Town Hall Offices - Relocation <br /> The Board received a_memo dated February 16 from Selectman Hanson advising <br /> them of the major rehabilitation to Town Hail to accommodate classrooms and <br /> office space . They noted that the Personnel Office would be moved into the <br /> Accounting Office . Chairman Sullivan asked Ben Lofchie to make sure that a <br /> petition up to the ceiling would be constructed and to request that it be <br /> sound proof . <br /> Inter-Department Meetings <br /> h Te Board reviewed a memo dated February 10 from the Executive Secretary <br /> advising all Department Heads that inter-department meetings will be held <br /> again on the first Tuesday of each month beginning March 1 in the Selectmen ' s <br /> Office and that items could be included on the agenda but should be received <br /> at least ten days prior to the meeting . <br /> Chairman Sullivan asked the secretary to attend the meeting scheduled for <br /> .March 1 at 8 : 30 a .m .- and to adjust her hours -to leave a half hour earlier . <br /> The Board did not have "•any items ' for the agenda . Off' <br /> Letter from Dr . Silva <br /> The Board reviewed 'a—letter dated January 14 from Dr . Silva , the town physi- <br /> cian , stating that due ^.to" rising costs of' providing medical care and the <br /> increase in demand for medical services in the area where there is a short- <br /> age of primary care physicians , it has become necessary for him to propose <br /> an increase in the compensation for providing the same. standard of quality <br /> care that the employees of the Town of Mashpee have come to expect from his <br /> office : He states that na. increases have been made since the original agree- <br /> ment in. 1985 : Chairman Sullvan 'asked that the Board respond by sending <br /> Dr : Silva a letter advising them that they concur with the proposed price in- <br /> creases ; however , that he be asked to review the rates yearly instead of going <br /> up 22 o in one year. <br /> Meeting With Selectmen -. March 2 <br /> The Board was advised that�the�Board of Selectmen wished to meet with them on <br /> March 2 in response to the Personnel Board ' s memorandum' of January 19 relative <br /> to various non-union positions and article which will be placed on the warrant <br /> for Annual Town Meeting . <br /> The Board noted a •copy of an article being submitted by the Shellfish Officer ' <br /> and the Harbormaster requesting Assistant Waterways funding paying an indi- <br /> vidual at $8 an hour . <br />
