PERSONNEL BOARD MEETING OF JANUARY 22 , 1990 MASHPEE TOWN HALL The following members of the Personnel Board were present for tonight ' s meeting: Robert W . Sullivan , Chairman , C. Ben Lofchie and Jane Stockbridge . Chairman Sullivan convened the meeting at 6 : 00 p .m. Request for Volunteer Help-- Bldg . Inspections_ The Board reviewed a request-' to- hire- Ma rjor-ie Moebius as a volunteer clerk to the Building Inspections Department . Mrs . Moebius has ex- tensive background in the business field , is now retired and would like to work a few hours weekly to do some filing. The Board had no objection to hiring Mrs . Moebius , but asked that counsel be asked about liability factors . Note : In follow-up to the meeting , upon contacting Asst . Town Counsel , she had no problems with the Town hiring Mrs . Moebius , but asked that all the proper paperwork be filled out such as the I-9 form ( Immagra- tion Form) , etc . Request for Tuition Reimbursement The Board was advised that D ty Maurice Cooper had submitted a re- quest for tuition reimbursement for Fall courses taken at Roger ; Williams College in the amount of $1 ,179 . The request was made in accordance with Deputy Cooper ' s contract with the Town of Mahspee . Ben Lofchie asked that the statement be sent to the Board of Selectmen for payment . Leo Turo seconded . All in favor . The Board members asked that the breakdown of course amount be obtained from the college . Note : The college was contacted and the breakdown is as follows : one course $885 , 1 course $230 and activity fees $64 bringing the amount to $1 , 1 79 . Request to Meet With Executive Secretary The Board was advised that the new Executive Secretary has begun to schedule individual briefing sessions and has asked department heads to meet with him regarding their department . He also asked that major goals/objectives of each department be briefly expounded on . The Per- sonnel Assistant advised the Board that she was scheduled for next week . Proposed Changes for the Personnel Administration Plan The Personnel Hoard reviewed the attached recommendations for the Per- sonnel Administration Plan . All of the recommendations were agreeable to the members .with the exception of Longevity which will remain the same . The. Board put a hold on the language for the benefits for part- time employees (-20 hrs . ) until after tonight ' s meeting with the Board of Selectmen . .lane Stockbridge and Marilyn Farren will be representing the Board on this issue .
