Youth Commission Page 2 <br /> Minutes <br /> May 30, 1995 <br /> B. New Business <br /> 1. Youth Sub-Committee <br /> Gus Frederick indicated that he was working on developing a"Youth Council", to address the needs of <br /> Youth in Town by getting them involved in the planning process. A meeting was to be held regarding <br /> development of a Teen Center, Skateboarding, and Summer Activities geared for the High School aged <br /> youth in Town. <br /> 2. Recycling Project <br /> Gus Frederick gave a short overview of a project which could be a fundraiser for Town Youth,by <br /> having them recycle used furniture which is often left at the Landfill for disposal. Selectman Costa <br /> indicated that he had contacted Otis Air Base and talked with a Colonel Merman regarding a"Quonset <br /> Hut"building that would be available at no cost to the Town. Gus indicated that he would send a <br /> Ietter to the Colonel regarding this building. Also, Gus has already met with the Health Department <br /> regarding this building, and the program - and has approval to go ahead with the project. <br /> V. ADJOURNMENT <br /> Jodie made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 PM. Catherine West seconded. Motion <br /> carried.
