MINUTES OF QUASHNET SCHOOL COUNCIL MEETING - OCTOBER 27, 1997 <br /> Meeting opened at 6:35pm. Bob Tippo introduced members who were <br /> present. <br /> School calendar and school newsletter distributed and discussed. <br /> i <br /> Budget items were discussed. Questions regarding several former <br /> programs were raised, such as, "Why was College Gate cancelled?" <br /> "Could programs such as Art History be expanded to other areas <br /> such as music?" <br /> i <br /> Items for budget were mentioned: <br /> a. Additional computers <br /> b. Computer technician <br /> c. Reading specialists <br /> d. Talented and gifted programs <br /> A discussion followed regarding instrumental music lessons. A <br /> major concern was the amount of time students were missing on <br /> classroom instruction in order to attend lessons. <br /> Parent members present: Sharon Balzarini, Vicky Kelly, Maura Manning, <br /> Reid Riberty <br /> Community members present.
