' �,:,..:• <br /> November 13, 1997 <br /> Meeting called to order 6:30 p.m. �� <br /> Attendees: Louise Doyle,Lucinda McKay,Anne Shackett,Alyce Shadata,Donna McCaffery,Sandy Reichel,Carol Russell, <br /> Rebecca Bingham,Ryan Lovely , <br /> Public Forum: <br /> Ryan Johnson,Mashpee Pack 36, Den 9,submitted a proposal to Iandscape the front entrance of the school for a <br /> Cub Scout World Conservation project <br /> Discussion: <br /> change in office location <br /> • major revision <br /> • lower ceiling <br /> • new heating <br /> • entryway from outside <br /> • has storage are, conference area,guidance area <br /> + may have to be used for classroom space within the next few years <br /> • walkway to parking lot <br /> • may need grassy area <br /> • hilly, slippery <br /> • may help with dismissal <br /> Donna McCaffery moved to accept proposal. Lucinda McKay seconded it. Approved. <br /> Don Cook, Dig Safe, and Beautification Council should be contacted. <br /> Approval of minutes: <br /> Anne Shackett moved the October 8, 1997 minutes be approved. Alyce Shadan seconded it Approved_ <br /> Budget: <br /> School commirte requested council to attend budget meeting October 18, 1997 7:00 p.m.at the high school. <br /> The December 9 school committee meeting will be with the teacher's association, finance committee liason,and selectmen. <br /> Discussed making a short presentation. Louise Doyle.Nancy Bowes and Sandy Reichel volunteered to make a presentation. <br /> Discussion of FY'99 budget request: <br /> I) change floater position to full time pilot reading improvement position <br /> • readinghutorial targeting pre and basic readers. present%numbers at budget meeting <br /> • breakfast learning club <br /> • whole school on same tier <br /> • attendance at CORE meeting and grade level meetings <br /> • time for inclusion teachers to work with sped personnel <br /> • add to reading proficiency goal <br /> ?) increase secretary from .5 school year to full time school year <br /> 3) additional teaching assistants for classes with>24 student <br /> 4) other requests to remain the same <br /> Louise Doyle moved to present the revised budget request to the school committee. Carol Russell seconded it.
