/r Quashnet River School Council <br /> Meeting Minutes. <br /> January 7, 1999 <br /> Meeting called to order 6.30 p.m. <br /> Attendees: Sandy Reichel,Angela Luria,Donna McCaffery,Rebecca Bingham,Lucinda McKay, Carol Russell, <br /> Kathleen Penney <br /> Public Forum; <br /> No one spoke at public forum. <br /> Approval of minutes: 0. <br /> Minutes from December 9, 1998 were distributed and read. The date of the Marionettes production is changed to <br /> March 5, 1999. Kathleen Penney moved to approve the minutes. Lucinda McKay seconded it. Unanimously <br /> approved. <br /> F'Y 2000 budget update <br /> There will be a school committee budget meeting on Wednesday, January 13, 7:00 p.m_, at the High School, room <br /> B 103. The school committee requests that school council members be present_ Sandy Reichel will check into getting <br /> council members copies of the budget prior to this meeting. <br /> Blizzard of Books <br /> Over 6dt6oks were donated , entered into a computer database, and distributed to classrooms_ A suggestion was <br /> made to do this again next year in January or the Spring. <br /> Facility Concerns <br /> This will be discussed at the next meeting.. Teachers brought up concerns over no lights on in the parking lot and no <br /> salt on the sidewalks in the morning for buses. <br /> Media/Public Library Display <br /> Two bookcase tops and the whole back wall of the public library are available for display of children's work. It was <br /> suggested that each grade level be assigned a month for display and post it in the teacher's lounge. A tentative <br /> schedule was put together subject to Mrs. Doyle's approval. A reminder schedule will be sent out. <br /> Tentative Schedule <br /> February-grade 4 <br /> March-grade 6 <br /> April-grade 5 <br /> May-grade 3 <br /> June-grade 2 <br /> The QRS library or Mashoee Post Office will be used for displaying the lower grades work. Items for display will be <br /> collected the first week of each month. Sandy Reichel will deliver and set up items in the library. Donna McCaffery <br /> ordered to help. To encourage use of the library, it was suggested to let parents know through the newsletter which <br /> grades work is being displayed_ <br /> Math Night <br /> Lucinda McKav and Carol Russell gave an update on math night preparations. The date will be March 10 from 6:30 <br /> —8:30. The name Spring Into Family rt�farh was chosen. There will be a staff meeting January 20 to discuss the <br /> logistics of space. Preregistration. permission slips, and babvsitting for toddlers and preschoolers was discussed. <br /> Carol Russel invited the council to view the math night where she reaches at North Falmouth Elementary School on <br /> January 27. <br /> Violence Prevenrion <br /> MC AS <br /> School hniforms <br /> These agenda items were zbied tail new meeting <br />
