QUASHNET RIVER SCHOOL <br /> SCHOOL COUNCIL MEETING <br /> FEBRUARY 16, 2000 <br /> The meeting was called to order at 6:35 in the Quashnet River School Staff <br /> Lounge. Members in attendance were: Louise Doyle, Kathleen Penney, Alyce Shadan, <br /> Angela Luna, Lucinda McKay, Lauretta Leone and Maureen Hall. <br /> No one was present for Open Forum. <br /> Review of January 191h meeting minutes read by Louise Doyle. Kathy Penney <br /> motioned to accept January 19"'minutes and Lucinda McKay seconded. <br /> Unanimous <br /> * As a result of the last School Committee meeting our School Improvement Plan goals <br /> will be presented in March. <br /> Review of February I"meeting minutes read by Louise Doyle(Joint School <br /> Council meeting with K.C. Coombs and Quashnet Valley)regarding reorganization of <br /> schools - K-2 and 3-6. Louise Doyle motioned to accept the February I"minutes. <br /> Lauretta Leone seconded. <br /> Unanimous <br /> Lucinda McKay gave an update on the upcoming Math Night- March 161h <br /> • Teachers have responded and are very willing to conduct this educational evening. <br /> • Possible Irish dancers or sing along,but not to create a St. Patrick's night. This will <br /> be an attempt to connect music with math. <br /> • Will probably have one meeting before the date and use homeroom parents as much <br /> as possible. <br /> • Notes will go home on February 28th and must be returned by Friday, March 3Ta <br /> • Carol Dottridge will have the computer lab open again and Judy Lamb will read <br /> "Math" books in library. <br /> • Maureen Hall will talk to Mike Dispazio(math text book writer). <br /> • Weigh in of PTO "Pocket Change" and activity will take place during math night. <br /> • Stock Market math will not be continued this year. <br /> • Continue with math night "check-in" procedure and estimation activities and keep the <br /> set-up the same as previous year. <br />
