SECTION 10 : SIGNS <br /> 10 . Intent <br /> It is the intent of this by-law to protect , <br /> conserve , and improve the unique visual quality of <br /> the Toiwn of Pl-;Lshpee tAlh i 1 e providing reasonabl e <br /> regulations and control of the erection and <br /> maintenance of signs and advertising devices <br /> wi thou t restricting the conduct of 1 a.t&ifu 1 <br /> enterprise . <br /> 10 . 1 No s i gn or advertising devices of any kind or <br /> nature shall be erected on any premises or <br /> affixed to the outside of any structure or be <br /> visible from the outside of .any structure in <br /> f " Mashpee except as permitted by this section . <br /> 10 .2 Plans. Specifications and Permits <br /> 10 .2. 1 Owner's consent : Before any permi t is granted for <br /> the erection of a. sign , plans and spec i f i cat i ons <br /> ;hall be -Filed with the building inspector shov)i ng <br /> the dimensions, materials and required details of <br /> construction , including loads) stresses and <br /> anchorage , where required. The application shall <br /> be accompanied by the written consent of the owner <br /> or T e ssee of the premises upon 1xih i ch the sign is <br /> to be erected. <br /> 10 . 2. 2 New signs: A nev) sign shal l not hereafter be <br /> erected, constructed, altered or maintained <br /> except as herein provided and until after a permit <br /> has been issued by the building inspector , and <br /> the bond, if required, shall have been filed in <br /> .accordance v.1 i th Section 1 0 . 8. Signs of over <br /> twenty (20) square feet , existing as of the <br /> effective date of this by-1 avi, shall have their <br /> continued use subject to the issuance of a permit <br /> from the building inspector . The deadline for <br /> obtaining such a permit is Sept . 11 1985. <br /> 10 .2.3 Alterations : A sign shall not be enlarged or <br /> <' relocated except in conformity to the provisions <br /> of this article for new signs, nor until a proper <br /> permit has been secured. The changing of movable <br /> t parts of an approved sign that is designated for <br /> such changes , or the repainting or reporting of <br /> display matter , shall not be deemed an <br /> alteration ; provided the conditions of the <br /> °. o.r i g i nal approval and the requirements of this <br /> .article are not Q i of ated. <br /> i y 1i� . 2 . 4 Nel.,l signs exceeding twenty ( 20) square feet <br /> %E <br />
