Marie Stevenson, Rolf Brandt, Michael Moulis, Kim Landry, Dan Kupferman, Winnie Johnson-Graham, Dan Kupferman Absent: Richard Klein, Mohamad Zefzaf, Ayesha Shafi, Aiman Igbal, Mohamad Fand, Gail Wilson Also Present: Ashley Lopes- Finance Director MMHS, Lauren Surbey — Mashpee Enterprise Lynne Barbee- Chair of Human Services Committee CALL TO ORDER Chair Stevenson called the meeting of the Mashpee Inclusion and Diversity Committee to order at 5:04P.M. LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT Today we acknowledge this meeting is being held on ancestral lands of the Wampanoag Tribe, also known as People of the First Light. We pay respects to their elders, past and present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES —January 21, 2025 Mr. Kupferman corrected misspellings of two people's names. He also noted Ms. Johnson Graham would be giving a Native Blessing at Race Amity Day. Lastly, on the bottom of page 3, the annual award is recognizing an MIDC inspiration, someone who has been in support of our mission. Mr. Brandt noted the name of the band for RAD is The Crocodile River Band. The vote was postponed due to no quorum. MEMBER UPDATES Coalition It is a difficult time for the DEI community, and painful to those truly dedicated to this cause. The MLK Action Team is showing Just Mercy at the Cape Cinema this weekend. Sherri Mitchell will speak at the Mashpee Highschool on March 1 st from 1:OOPM-3:OOPM, as part of L.I.N.K's "Rights of Nature" theme for 2025. Mashpee Middle High School Ashley Lopes was welcomed this evening as a representative on behalf of the school. 1
